Cancellation policy

Cancellation by the customer

  1. In Europe there is a general rule that a customer who has booked online, via phone or e-mail can annul the sale within 14 days and get a full refund, yet there in our line of business this right does not exist, according to the following Austrian law § 18 Abs. 1 Z 10 FAGG (Fern- und Auswärtsgeschäfte-Gesetz).
  2. According to this law you have no right to reclamation and restitution in case services in the areas of accommodation, transportation, delivery of food and drinks, or tourism activities have been ordered for a specific time or time range. As soon as you have booked a paragliding tandem flight with us for a specific time or short time range (e.g. „2 passengers for 10 July at 10:00 o clock“ or “1 passenger on 10 or 11 July”) at a given location and you have given any kind of written confirmation via our booking form, via e-mail or via WhatsApp, your booking is final and cannot be annulled. The 14-day reclamation right does not apply with us.
  3. Up to 48 hours before the flight, the flight can be canceled without further ado, by phone, Whatsapp or e-mail. Any advance payments will be refunded to the customer.
  4. Between 48 and 24 hours before the time slot the flight can be cancelled by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail, but half of the price of the booked tandem flight is due. If fully paid before, we will refund 50% of the flight price. If not yet paid we will send you a payment link via WhatsApp or e-mail. If the payment is not done within 1 day, we will relay the collection of the payment to an Austrian incasso service.
  5. Within 24 hours before the booked time slot, the flight can be cancelled by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail, but the full price (100%) of the booked tandem flight is due. If not yet paid we will send you a payment link via WhatsApp or e-mail. If the payment is not done within 1 day, we will relay the collection of the payment to an Austrian incasso service.
  6. Requests by the customer to shift the booking to another time slot or another date are treated as cancellations followed by a new booking! However if VIP-paragliding has availability in the calendar and doesn’t have any financial loss from the fact that you kept a time slot blocked, we can be lenient and may not require you to pay 50% (48 hours before) or 100% (24 hours before) for the cancellation of your original booking.
  7. For purchased vouchers the normal 14-day reclamation period applies: if cancelled via e-mail within 14 days after the purchase date, a full refund will be made.

Cancellation by VIP-paragliding

  1. Of course you will always get a full refund when your paragliding tandem flight or flights are cancelled by VIP-paragliding, or if no down payments were made no payment by the customer is due. This will only ever be the case when weather conditions do not allow for safe flights, when pilots suddenly get sick or become otherwise not available, or other force majeure events make the execution of the booked flights impossible.
  2. This also applies when you booked your VIP-paragliding tandem flight via one of our booking partners (with upfront payment) such as Getyourguide.com, Tripadvisor, Manawa, Jochen Schweizer, My Days etc. Such a force majeure cancellation will then be done by us on those platforms which will then execute the full refund.
  3. VIP-paragliding will always try to the utmost to make your flights happen at another timeslot, another date and sometimes even at another location. However: a customer never has to accept these proposed changes and can always opt to not fly and not to pay, when the original booking cannot take place.
  4. In some cases the weather conditions change quickly and the cancellation takes place on top of the mountain. Or working with the passenger (customer) the tandem pilot decides to cancel because the specific combination of current wind conditions and the physical state of the passenger (e.g. a light child in strong wind, a heavy and/or old passenger in low winds) is too risky. Any expenses by the customer for reaching the top of the mountain (e.g. a lift ticket) will not be reimbursed when the flight is canceled by the pilot because of safety concerns. VIP-paragliding and/or individual pilots always inform customers/passengers before travelling or buying tickets, when conditions are such that flights cannot be 100% guaranteed.
  5. Of course the customer does not pay anything if the flight is cancelled by VIP-paragliding or the individual pilot, even if there was a long waiting time on the mountain (e.g. when the valley is covered in persistent fog).
  6. The customer cannot claim any damages due to lost (holiday) time as a result of a safety or force majeure decision not to fly. This applies even when this bad luck would strike more than once (flight canceled at the original booked time slot and then again at the new time slot).
